cheap baby travel system?

laura robs

im having my second baby after being made redundant i am struggling to find a travel system thats cheap (well affordable) im in the uk
any help would be grate

Answer
Don't get one. Just get a car seat for now, you don't need a stroller in the first few months they're so light and easy to carry. If you do want a stroller you can find one that's used that will be cheaper than any in the store, they're rarely recalled, and just look for one that lays flat and it's fine for a newborn without the car seat in it.

Having a baby ride at an incline instead of laying flat can affect oxygen levels and some believe the curve of the seat can affect back health, it's just all around better to have them laying flat and not in a car seat unless riding in a car.

Does anyone know of a good light weight baby travel system i can buy?

ffgurl75

that is a stroller and carseat...thank you

Answer
My husband and I bought the Chicco system and love it. It is light weight and easy to use. I don't have much arm strength, so I had to get one where I could lift the baby at 20 lbs. plus the car seat. They can be found at Target and babies r us.

I have a four month old and I do not want to hassle with taking my whole travel system on the plane. My in-laws have a car seat for us so all I need is something compact and easy that I can use for an infant, preferably that can go in the overhead or captain's closet. I love the travel system I have here at home so I do not want to spend more than like 100 dollars on this one b/c I won't use it much. Any suggestions?

Answer
I've done lots and lots of flying with my infant (he's nine months and we've been averaging a trip every two months) and I'm actually wondering why you don't want to bring your travel system? The airlines I have flown (Continental, Northwest, American) have all never said a peep to me about checking both my car seat and the stroller. I have a Snap n Go by Baby Trend (this was 60 dollars at BRU) which I LOVE simply because it is so light...but the only time that would be nice in an airport is when you have to lift it onto the conveyer belt to get xrayed. I have found the stroller incredibly handy because you can stow things in the basket and hang your carryon from the handle bars, etc. I don't know why you would want to bring a smaller stroller since the airlines have no problem with checking it at the gate...that means they do all the lifting.

Is there a Car Seat from Graco thats similar to Chicco Cortina 30 Travel System?

A travel system from Graco that is similar to the Chicco Cortina 30 Travel System, but lighter weight?

Answer
No need for a travel system :) Pick a good quality stroller that you like, make sure it reclines flat for use until baby can sit upright. Buy the car seat separately and don't use it with the stroller- it's not good for baby to be in a car seat any longer than they need to.

Do you think a light pink baby travel system will get too dirty?

I have seen a travel system that I want if I have a girl. It's a graco and it's light pink. Would it get dirty fast because it is light pink? Or should I buy another color?
I don't plan on having anymore children.

Answer
I bought a dark blue Graco stroller when I was pregnant with my first. We got a lot of use out of it! Then when baby #2 showed up we bought a dark blue tandem stroller which I hated! That thing didn't turn well. Anyway we used the first stroller with the second baby too. And it seems no matter how clean you try to keep it, if you're using it A LOT like we did it always gets a bit dirty. I'd have to think that on pink it would really show more. I'm guilty of looking at a pink one myself now~~my kids are 8 & 6 so I long ago sold all my baby stuff and now I'm pregnant again!!

Even though I like this pink one I don't dare buy it. I have no idea what I'm having yet, plus I plan to be pregnant at least one more time after this and if that's a boy, I don't think he'll appreciate the pink stroller!

Do you think a light pink baby travel system will get too dirty?sk?

Do you plan on having any more kids after this one? if so I dont recommend buying pink because if you were to have a boy after, I doubt you would want to use it. I'm having a little girl and went with gender neutral so I can use it again with my next child. How dirty it would get depends. My trunk can get kind of dirty sometimes with everything going in and out (especailly dirt on the stroller wheels) so you might find it would get dirty in there. Its up to you.

Can you jog with a newborn in a car seat attached to a jogging stroller?

Whiskey Ta

I know that babies are not supposed to be placed in joggers until they are around six months old. However, my jogging stroller is a travel system and has an carrier infant car seat that can be attached to the jogging stroller very securely. So, can I run with the baby in the car seat or is this really only supposed to be utilized if I am walking with the stroller?

Answer
Yes, you can run if the seat securely attaches to the jogger. Just make sure you have it locked in according to the directions and make sure your infant is buckled up before running (And use a head stabilizer). Also, use the little leash they give you that attached to the jogger when you run.

*We're talking about jogging, not relay sprinting, folks. Children jostle more in a car driving at 25 mph than in a secured infant carrier on a track. Light jogging after 6 weeks on an indoor track is quite safe.
