Answer
I have a Graco Alano (third one) and I love it! The stroller is super easy to fold up:) The pink is so cute too! It is a little tough to keep clean (Oxy Clean makes it look like new again) I got mine on clearance at Target. The travel system was marked down to $80! So, if it's coming out of your pocket check there just in case:) If not, who cares lol! Good luck to you and happy baby shopping! It's so fun isn't it?

Im having a baby girl..Opinions on this travel system!!?

I like this pattern but do you think this looks too boyish for my baby girl?!?! or is it ok for a girl also?

Do you have any suggestions for travel systems/infant carseats?

KM

I am looking to buy a new travel system for my next child. I want something modern, gender neutral, and most importantly safe.

Here is one I like, just for reference: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3232437

I am leaning towards this one, but want to compare before buying.

Also: any ideas for seats that will fit well in the backseat of a Ford Mustang? It will be strapped in using LATCH, but I don't know if some are bigger than others.

Answer
I LOVE my BabyTrend travel system. It's a jogger but we are very satisfied with it.

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5621878

We have a base in the backseat of our 2 door Cavalier. I think the downside with ANY 2 door vehicle is that the passenger seat will be pushed up a little in order for the car seat to be placed safely in the vehicle. You don't want to car seat to touch the back of the passenger seat so that the seat can go a little with inertia in the event of a car accident. The handle of the seat can be placed in 3 positions; verticle(upright), parallel, and down one more setting lower (suggested position in the vehicle) so that it is down out of the way.

The stroller has tons of storage, and it folds to fit in the trunk of my cavalier if that is any comparison with your mustang :)

Good luck with your shopping!

***I will add that it does not have tons of padding for new babies. We just used rolled burp rags or receiving blankets until we got the padding to put in it but she was tired of that stuff in no time. At about 1 1/2 months she was holding her head up and do just fine without at padding or support. Plus even the fitted support we bought didn't work so well. She always slipped her head forward when she fell asleep lol.

a simple travel system/buggy with car seat?

Where can I get a simple pushchair with car seat/2 in1.

First: A simple pushchair with car seat, a few years ago that was all there seemed to be you had a pushchair suitable from 6 months and a car seat on top which balanced on the bumper bar and seat. If you look on pushchair guides under travel system that is what you get but rarely see something like that on the products page. I know about flat head syndrome but never have my baby in the pram for longer than an hour and that''s only once in a blue moon. Any where I could get something like that.

Second: A 2 in 1. They can be found quite easily on a baby website now but I don't want a carrycot and a pushchair, I want a chair that faces both ways but reclines so the baby can sleep (I don't want a 3 in 1 since the pram part is unnecessary)

P.S. Helpful if they are UK brands/stores

Thanks

Answer
I would check out http://JoggingStrollerRatings.com

They have a lot of info, reviews and comparisons on strollers. Also I believe all the stuff there can be found fairly cheap on Amazon.uk

Does anyone know what the best baby stroller travel system is?

frosty

Answer
I WORK AT BABIES R US AND WE HAD TO GO THRU A TRAINING ON STROLLERS AND THESES ARE THE ONES THAT I RECOMMEND:
The Graco Quattro Tour Deluxe travel system includes the Quattro Tour Deluxe stroller, SafeSeat⢠infant car seat with a 5-Point front adjust harness and a stay-in-car adjustable base. The Quattro Tour Deluxe stroller is made of aluminum tubing and promises years of comfy strolling for infants through toddlers. The one hand gravity fold simplifies life for parents and the 180 degree rotating canopy with peek-a-boo window shades your child from any direction. The 4-position, flat reclining seat keeps your child comfortable while the parent organizer tray with storage compartment and cupholders provides convenience for mom and dad. The lower and load storage basket is the perfect place for storing babys essentials. Best of all, this travel system includes the SafeSeat infant car seat for your infant from 5-30 lbs. and up to 32.

poll: travel system OR light weight baby strollers?

Rodi= Yass

i like the travel system, but its so heavy and bulky even when its folded..
i like the light weight because its light!! but i still need a car seat... what should i do?
@ jen, i wish they were that cheap in my counrty :( the travel system costs around 480 $ and the light weight is around 130 $ :(
i cant afford both

Answer
OK, so I have both....Travel system and convertible seat and light weight stroller. Yes the travel system is conveienant when they are newborns and sleep alot, b/c the infant carrier can just be taken out of the car, without disturbing the baby. It's very nice that the infant seat secures to the stroller too. Especially b/c most light weight/umbrella strollers don't recline or have infant neck support. However.....Had I known that my son was going to outgrow his infant seat at 7 months, I would have skipped the travel system completly. My travel system was extremly expensive, Graco Quattro ($250), and now that my son is 1 year, it barely even gets used at all (the stoller stays at my moms now, just for when he goes there sometimes). I love my convertible seat, I have the Eddie Bauer 3 in 1 ($100 @ Costco or BJs) and never need another car seat again. The lightweight stroller I have is the Chicco Capri. It's a very good quality umbrella stroller, that wasn't cheap either ($80) It's not a flimsy plastic type. The handles are higher up,(my fiance is 6' 2" and doesn't have to be all hunched over to push it), the frame is metal, but it's still super light, and I love it. Once I finally started using that, I questioned myself why I was such a jack*** to be luggin the big heavy stoller around all those months. If you can't afford both, I highly suggest getting a good convertible seat and a nice lightweight stroller....Both of those will be used for MANY years, whereas the travel system will probably only really be useful for several months (at least the seat part anyway), you can use the stroller for many years, but they are very bulky, and you would still need another carseat anyway.
Hope I helped.

Here is what I have

http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4201518 (did not buy at Babyrus, boought it much cheaper at Costco)

MOMS- What are your favorite baby items?

RYDEN due

What baby items do you use the most and which ones do you find that were a waste of money? I am trying to eliminate some things on my registry, but I am not sure what I will and will not use. Is there any particular type or brand of stroller, high chair, swing, gym, tub, ect ... that you like a lot? Did you get a certain type or brand that you hated and had to return or just really dislike? I am just really worried that I will spend money on these big items and not like them or not use them (well obviously things like a crib, high chair, ect will be used.) The main things that I am having the hardest time deciding on are monitors and breast pump. I have heard really good things about the Medula, but it cost so much.

Answer
I love travel systems. However, for me they have to be able to clip the car seat onto the pushchair without pulling the pushchair apart as it makes it easier, looks nicer and is quicker.

I also found my breast pump to be a god send. I had problems breastfeeding, so pumped until I dried up to allow my son to still have breast milk. This time I am getting it so I can feed my baby when out and about easier or so my eldest son/fiance can take part and join in.

Baby carrier sling things are brilliant as they enable you to hug your baby close and still have hands to do housework or shopping. It also makes popping to the shops so much easier.

I didn't have a baby swing and didn't need one. They were very expensive so that put me off, especially as you only get a couple months use out of them. I had a bouncy chair which is much cheaper and more portable so baby is occupied and within sight while doing things like showering/cleaning/laundry etc.

I also found a CD player in the nursery was brilliant as I played a womb sounds CD on it at night times and was the only thing that got my over-alert baby to sleep.

Graco, Mothercare, Maclaren, Avent, Pampers, Johnsons are all brilliant makes. I love them all.

is mothercare a good brand, quality wise?

Ericka Val

My husband and I are first time parents to be and we're not sure if to go for a Graco or a Mothercare stroller and car seat.

Answer
We went with the Jeep Cherokee Sport, doesn't fully recline flat, but did the job for the newborn stage. Most of the time, we skipped the stroller and just used a baby sling to carry the lil one. Even if they are asleep in the car, you can take them out and plop them in the sling and they wee one will snuggle back to sleep (takes a couple of times, then this is their 'routine') Graco is generally the most favored with parents. Best to try before you buy, as your needs are your needs. We needed something 'hands-free' (the sling) when we were grocery shopping or at the park, we needed to spend our $$$ on something that lasts (the convertible), and we just needed a more lightweight stroller, on our walks around the block and not in the sling (the light stroller). We spent our money on a good convertible seat that will last. Those car seat/travel systems fall out of favor by the time the lil one is about 6-9 months old.

Question about Evenflo Travel System Strollers vs Jogging Stroller?

Momuvtwinb

I have a Evenflo Eurotrek Travel System and was wondering if anyone has tried an Evenflo stroller on gravel and how did it perform? My boys are fixing to start baseball again and I'm wondering if a jogging type stroller with big wheels will be necessary as I plan on taking my 4 month old with me to practices and games as long as the weather permits in her stroller. Some of the ballparks are gravel and I was wondering if anyone has any advice.

Answer
Travel systems are way to bulky! I got the Citi Mini by Babyjogger. Its a 3 wheel stroller with bigger wheels and yet it is not a jogging stroller. Its meant for everyday use on concrete and gravel terrain. Its also pretty lightweight and collapses in half by simply pulling on the handle located on the seat. You can literally collapse it with 1 finger while holding the baby! I think this is the most awesome stroller and its fairly well priced at $219.99

Best stroller/ baby travel system out there?

Mrs. Troy

I am due in July with my first baby, and I am having second thoughts about the stroller that I picked out. I picked out a Graco Stylus Travel System. The car seat holds up to 35lbs, and the stroller holds up to 50 lbs. I have read all of the reviews, and the only thing I am kind of worried about is how heavy people say that it is. Not pregnant, I am not a big person, only weighing in at about 120 (pre-pregnancy) and I'm only 5'2".

Do any of you all have any suggestions on a really good baby travel system? You can see the travel system that I picked out originally if click on the link below :).

I am having a baby girl by the way, but I would like to keep the stroller somewhat sex neutral just in case I end up having any more children.

Your input is greatly appreciated :)

Answer
There are a lot of things you can easily pick out by looking online. However, some things just need a first hand look. I think baby equipment is one of those things. It's helpful to see things in person before deciding on things like strollers, car seats, cribs, and travel systems. I suggest you go to several stores such as Babies R Us, Toys R Us, Target, Walmart, Sears, JC Penney, or any other local stores that carry baby items. Take some time to push the strollers and practice folding them. See first hand how heavy they are and how much room they take up when folded. Feel the fabric on car seats and check out how the latching system works. Sometimes looks alone just can't give you a good idea as to what you are going to get. After you find the items you like best than you can do some research to find the best web site to get the best price deal on exactly what you want. Personally, I don't think there is a best or really good travel system only because each one has their own set of pros and cons depending on what your wants and needs are. All are going to meet minimum safety standards, so it will take some investigation to find the one that suits you best.

Stroller travel system that is comfortable for someone tall?

Angie

I need to get a travel system that is comfortable for someone tall. I'm doing most of my shopping online and looking for recomendations. for our first child our mother in law got us the crappiest travel system ever as a gift. My boyfriend hate it using it he is 6'3 and had to bend his back over to be able to walk with it and it was very uncomfortable for him. He wants to be able to walk out son in the stroller so we want to buy something ourselves this time around that it's comfortable for someone tall to use. Thank You
We want a stroller carseat combo since we want to be able to put the newborn carseat in the stroller

17 weeks pregant now :)

Answer
I own the Chicco Key fit 30 travel system.
We love it, it comes with a stroller, car seat, and a car seat base. The handle bar on the stroller is adjustable, and I am amazed at how easy it is to use the stroller. it opens and folds very smoothly. I only wish the basket underneath was larger but it's not that big of a deal. I know they carry this system at Babies R Us. Even if you don't buy it from there you can still go to look at it and try it out.
And I've heard nothing but good reviews about the car seat. My friend had a 5 day old baby in the backseat of his car when they were hit by a drunk driver, he was bruised badly and had 3 surgeries since, but the baby was perfectly fine. So much in fact that the baby remained sleeping throughout the entire thing. (the child was examined by doctors for any problems immediately afterwards and none were found)
So I definitely recommend this system to anyone who asks.

Baby Travel System Help?

Rocio

Okay so we are shopping for baby items now! Yay!
My husband and I really want a convertible car seat, particularly this one "Safety 1st Complete Air⢠65 Convertible Car Seat - Great Lakes" (here is the link http://www.sears.com/safety-1st-complete-air-153-65-convertible-car-seat/p-04918152000P?prdNo=2&blockNo=2&blockType=G2)
But we are wondering if this car seat, or a similar convertible car seat would work for those new "snap n go" strollers, where its just a base, and you should just "click" the car seat in.
We want a travel system, but wish they wouldnt come with just the seat for the infant. Which is why we want the convertible seat, it lasts longer.

(this is what that snap and go stroller im talking about looks like http://www.sears.com/safety-1st-clic-it-33-infant-seat-carrier-black/p-04901811000P?prdNo=23&blockNo=23&blockType=G23 )

Please help.

Answer
The Safety First Complete Air is a great car seat... but it's not an infant snap-n-go type of seat. There's no convertible that will work with the snap-n-go strollers because they are all 'install and keep it there' seats. But really you don't need the snap-n-go Travel System. They're not worth it.

First, SIDS recommendations are that babies lay flat when they're not being carried. Even sitting in a car seat causes their oxygen level to dip and babies have died sleeping in car seats. Car seats are the safest place for them to travel in the car, but it's not for sleeping or spending long periods of time in.

Second, a snap-n-go stroller is cheapest NOW, but once the baby outgrows the infant seat (some as early as 6 months, most by a year or two) the stroller is garbage. You can't use it without the infant seat. And I'll tell you now, most babies want to sit up more from 6 months on. Compared with a normal stroller that will go to usually 50lbs and will last you for 5 years? No contest which is the better stroller. If you want something that lasts longer you do NOT want the snap-n-go, you want a normal stroller. I personally like the Baby Trend 'jogging' strollers with the big wheels for an economical choice. Try them out in stores. Small wheels tend to have problems going through sand (like at parks) and going up and over curbs/cracks/stairs are harder with small wheels.

To point it out, strollers are also rarely recalled and you can buy them used without worrying about an expiration date. So you can go on craigslist and buy a used one without it being an issue. The strollers that don't lay flat the baby can use once they can sit up while propped and their head is steady, usually from 4-6 months on. In the meantime, babies are usually very easy to carry, or get something like a Moby Wrap or Ergo and wear them (for the record, you can't put a baby seat on shopping carts, and using a stroller to go shopping is hard since it's not a cart, but put the baby in a sling/wrap/carrier and they'll fall asleep. It works WONDERFULLY.)

If you really want a snap-n-go you may be able to find one and a car seat to go with it on craigslist. Do NOT use the car seat in the car, that's not safe. However, if you're just using it for the stroller, then you should be able to do that.

Travel system strollers...?

Boston's M

I had the baby trend jogging stroller and travel system (it came with a car seat as well!) The harnesses had a major issue and it was no longer safe. I am weary to go with baby trend again and was wondering if some mommies could give me some advice on TRAVEL SYSTEM strollers they have used and recommend. We are looking for another jogger that is a travel system (Has car seat with stroller). Any advice would be great! Thank you!

Answer
My advice is to find a jogging stroller you really like with the features you want. All jogging strollers can hold a baby car seat- you do not have to buy a "system." A lot of them have a converter piece that you attach to the stroller that the seat will lock into. Plus, the infant car seats are all essentially the same. You won't find much variation there so you can pick whatever you would like too.

As for the stroller it's important to figure out what you intend for it. Are you going to run, jog, light jogging, power walking or just strolling? If you are going to run or jog it is important to get a quality jogging stroller and they are not all created equal! If you will be doing light jogging, power walking or strolling then save the extra cash you would spend on a jogging stroller and get a regular stroller (the less wheels the better.)

If you need any help, I have tested many, many strollers and owned quite a few. (I'm picky...lol.) Just message me and I will do my best.

A women in western Canada flew to the U S to have her record 8 kids you told us there was a bed shortage so why do you fly in a high risk?
A English actress had a skiing accident in eastern Canada she was air-vaced over night to the U S you told us she was already dead So why over night with a doctor? Don't you investigate accidental deaths in Canada?
Why did one of your government ministers come to the U S to have his operation?
Why did you want to pull the plug on baby Joseph?
I know you well want to clear all this up as our site were alive with you Canucks telling us of your free and better health care
Awaiting your insightful replies

Answer
While I don't claim that the Canadian Health Care system is perfect, I do believe it is better than the American system. That said, even if Canada had a similar health care system as the U.S, there would still be people that crossed the boarder. For different reasons.

Large American cities are sometimes closer than large Canadian cities. Cities such as Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver, are few and far between. So it's sometimes its faster to go to an American city. An example is Windsor, which is about 5h from Toronto, but just across the bridge from Detroit. Large cities, also, develop expertise in certain fields. Such as Oncology, Pediatrics, Neurology, Cardiology, and so on. Again, Canada has has only 3 major cities, where as the U.S has many.

Just because a few Canadian go to the U.S for health care, doesn't makes the American system better. It's just a red herring. There is a growing amount of Americans traveling to third world countries, like India, to get treatment. Does that mean that India has better health care?

As for baby Joseph. I want to know what you think of the following article.

How do I get my name off of a government list?

kolgado69

Here's the deal, my roommate was caught bringing back several ounces (11) of marijuana from Canada.
He somehow got a slap on the wrist, the only problem is that last time I traveled to Europe when I came back I was kept at the airport for several hours and finally asked if I knew him. His name was in the computer when I was traveling and I was traveling by my self.
When I came back from spending a night in Toronto with my friends, again they held us up at customs for quite some time and they went through our bags. Mine in particular, I had my European passport in my travel bag and when they handed back our passports they handed me back the second one that I hadn't shown them in the first place.

When I confronted my roommate about it he acted very chummy and almost ignored the whole situation, he practically laughed in my face.

One day I was telling a friend of mine about the whole situation and he said he would try to find out as much as he could about it but with no guarantees. He just got back to me and said he contacted someone at the airport I flew in from and said that my roommate told the cops that I was selling drugs and now my name is in there computer system as a threat to this country.

I never did anything wrong in my life, at least not at this level and I'm being treated as a suspect every time I travel.

The worst part is that I couldn't even get a straight answer from the people from home land security when they were going through my things at the airport, like the baby presents I had for my new born cousin at the time. If it weren't for the fact that I happen to have met someone with some kind of connection on the inside, I would've never really known the truth about what happened.

I would like to get my name cleared, I don't want to be considered a suspect every time I travel. I travel quite a bit since I have family in several different places. Besides being quite a nuisance when I travel, I don't really know what this means to the government or how it will affect me down the road.
Can this keep me from getting a job?

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance

Answer
your room mate sold you out. it does not matter what you do, you are in the system. Call your government and ask for their help to clear your name. The people from TSA and homeland security are the must useless corrupted uneducated piece of human solid waste you have to deal with, and will never help you or inform you of anything including the true (they believe they are smarter than anyone else just like a real liberal/democrat/socialist). They have to justify a useless job.

For how many years is a typical baby travel system safe?

Erika B

We have an almost 4 yr old and are due with our second child in 5 months. We have everything we need, but a friend warned me against using our carseat and stroller again, becuase it may be out of safety regulation being almost 4 yrs old. It's a Chicco KeyFit 30, and had great safety ratings when we purchased it. Any one know typically how many years a travel system is good for?

Answer
Most car seat brands are 6 years from the date of manufacture. The KeyFit 30 is still considered to be a great seat. Flip it over and look for a "do not use after" date stamped into the shell. Once you're sure it's not expired, use the model number off the seat to search for a recall- for any seat. For the KeyFit, Chicco has only had one recall since 2001 and I don't think your seat was produced between the dates for the recall, here it is http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/recalls/childseat.cfm#mfg_anchor

Which stroller/ jogger/ travel system would you recommend for a first time mom?

LondonLou

I have purchased only nursery furniture, clothes and a few toys so far, I am now 29 weeks and it is time to start thinking about baby carriers, transport systems and baby gear but the choice out there is daunting. I know that in a recent crash test on baby car seats they found baby trend and graco to be the safest car seats and bases so thatâs were I think I will start, we need a baby car seat! I was also thinking that I would be carrying my baby in one of those baby Bjorn carriers mostly but not sure if the active or the original is best. Also my Mom is flying in from England for 3 months to help so I want some kind of stroller for her to use as I cant see her using the baby Bjorn. My husband says that if we get a jogger that he will use it to jog on the weekends but I am not sure if they are too bulky for everyday use and at the end of the day when my mom goes home I will ultimately be the one getting it in and out the car and using it as he grows. I canât afford to get one of each
I need advice on the most practical yet safe baby gear. I also need to know if I need to by all this stuff before he is born, my husband seems to think that other than the car seat the rest can wait until our son is born then we can try him out in them but I would prefer to have it on hand before hand. Any advice?

Answer
With so many choices out there it can be confusing trying to figure out what stroller or car seat to buy. My suggestion is to look aroundf or what you feel most comfortable with. Here are a few good things to look for in each item to make sure you get what you really want:

Stroller- Look for these things:
does it fold compactly and easily- with one hand? Can you adjust the handles height if multiple people will be using it ( at 5 ft 1 my needs are very different than my husbands)? can you use it as a car seat combo ( like Graco products)? Do you want a lightweight, mid sized or super delux stroller? Look at the way the child gets strapped into the stroller- is it a five point harness? does it turn easily and can you manage it with one hand not just both?

Car Seats- Obviously safety comes first in this category and it'll depend on if you want an infant seat ( generally 5- 20 lbs.or so)- or a convertable seat ( 5-60 or more lbs.) The advantages of an infant seat are that you can easily take it with you inside where as the convertable seat stays in the car at all times.

Things to think about with a car seat: Take a look at how easily you can buckle the five point harness - is it hard to open and clip? Do the straps adjust easily to make them loose or tight? Some you have to pull apart the whole seat -Will it be easy for you to take your child in and out of the seat - think rainy day here! And the big thing is to test it in your own car! Every car seat fits differently in different cars. What fits in my SUV doesn't work in our mid sized car! Many places will allow you to give them your drivers id and test the seat in your car before you purchase... Babies R Us does this for sure!

My personal favorites from experience are:

Graco Snug Ride Infant Car seat- comes in so many patterns now and is easy to get in and out of the car - always has had a good safety rating - we used them for both children and were very happy with them. You can even purchase an extra base for a second car so it's easier!

Britax on the high end for a convertable car seat- we have the Marathon and LOVE IT- In my opinion it was worth every penny! Easy to instal with the lock off clip once you chnage to forward facing ( 1 year and at laest 20 lbs.)- it stays in the car tightly forward facing - and easy adjustment of straps- plus GREAT safety ratings! I found it easy to use as rear facing seat ytoo - although the placement of the adjustment to loosen the straps was harder in that position - but not awful.

We have a second car seat too- the Graco Safe Seat which I am pleased with as well - it's easy to use and also at a lesser cost has the seat belt lock off clip that keeps it snug against the seat- but this car seat would be the second after an infant seat becuase it is only forward facing.

Strollers - We had a graco stroller for my first daughter that lasted years - great durability, so I can't say a bad thing about Graco. I also have a new Peg Perego Pliko and LOVE it - it folds compactly - it's easy to fold and has plenty of room. My mom has the Combi Cosmo Stroller- only about $60 and it is great- we used it on vacation and I was very pleased - it's a very light weight and compact stroller. Folds so small you won't believe it!

My experience with a jogging stroller is to purchase one that has a front wheel that swivels- I had one that did not and it is extremely difficult to turn or use around corners, etc.. I got rid of it quickly! it is not condusive to shopping or small spaceswithout that feature at all!

Carriers- so many choices too- I useda sling carrier for a while- then wentto the baby bjorn- look online though and search baby carriers- you can get many at better prices than in the stores- and there are lots of choices out there - everything from moby wraps and mei teis to hotslings, etc...
Good luck & have fun shopping!

One universe, or two?

Q. The scenario is hypothetical, invented to illustrate a thesis.

40 lightyears from Earth, in the direction of the North Star, there is a solar system with intelligent creatures on it.

40 lightyears from Earth, in the direction of the South Star, there is another solar system with intelligent creatures on it.

Civilizations on both of these other planets happen to intercept a radio transmission from Earth. It's something about a "War to End All Wars." At once the monarchs of these respective planets command their radio astronomers to send a message to Earth, congratulating the Earth people for eliminating the troublesome problem of war.

By chance, it happened that a baby prince was born to the King of Planet North on the very day the radio astronomers sent the message commanded by their king.

By chance, a baby princess was born to the Queen of Planet South on the very day that the radio astronomers of Planet South sent the message commanded by their queen.

80 years after Planet North sent its congratulatory message to Earth, the radio astronomers of Planet North learned about the existence of Planet South, which is 40 light years on past Earth.

80 years after Planet South sent its congratulatory message to Earth, the radio astronomers of Planet South learned about the existence of Planet North, which is 40 light years on past Earth.

It just so happens that the Prince of Planet North lived 70 years and died.

And likewise the Princess of Planet South also lived 70 years and died.

Question: Were these two persons in the same universe?
Someone asked why I would think that the Prince of Planet North and the Princess of Planet South did not occupy the same universe. The answer is simple.

Each of them died before any signal from the other one's birth could have reached him/her, even though it traveled at the speed of light. No information created by the Prince of Planet North could possibly affect the Princess of Planet South, and vice versa.

It is possible that a third observer could be witness to the existence of both of them, but this third observer would could not inform either young royal of the other one's existence.
It seems to be the consensus of most of the answerers that the Prince of Planet North and the Princess of Planet South did, indeed, belong to the same universe, even though each of them occupied that part of the Minkowski diagram called "Absolute Elsewhere."

The Prince was in neither the future nor the past of the Princess. The Princess was in neither the future nor the past of the Prince.

However, because it is possible for a third observer to have received signals from both the Prince and the Princess, most people feel obliged to insist that these two royals occupied the same universe.

A distinction, then, must be made between Absolute Elsewhere in which such a third observer is possible, and Absolute Elsewheres in which it is impossible for any third person to receive signals from both of the primary two persons.

Answer
Interesting. I would say this depends on your definition of a "universe"
As far as I'm concerned, the universe does not depend on how far away things are, but rather on whether it is possible for matter or energy from to travel from one to the other. For this reason I would argue that they were in the same universe.

There is also the issue of space-time, which would suggest that if they had been so ... lucky, they could have met each other in their lifetimes (what with light-speed travel reducing the flow of time for them). They COULD have met, and that puts them in the same universe.

So, god could exist, blah blah (filling up space)?

Q. First off, no, I'm not becoming a deist or theist.
Now if the multiverse theory is correct, then there could be an endless amount of possibilities, as other universes would have things that we don't etc. So that being the case (maybe), then a god of some sort could exist in another universe. But if that god only existed in that one universe, then it would not be a "god" as such, because it is confined to one space, so it would not be all-powerful.

Thoughts/Opinions etc. etc.?

(First suggestion : Science & Mathematics > Astronomy & Space)

Is it a faith doesn't require physical proof, sensory proof and evidence.who told this.i think a man who told this is uneducated, i think he missed his brain somewhere.
we are humans come on we do have brain to think to find and explore something.
miracle what is a miracle.definition says miracle is something humans cant explain.funny isn't it.is there something humans cant explain with science?? i don't think so??we have extreme inventions we can overtake sound with our new jets which travels 1500+ km/hr isn't it.we haven't found any angels traveling that fast.we have invented this jet after our long long development from Zhuge Liang to wright brothers.3rd century(1400 years ago) Zhuge Liang had a flying balloon from that our scientific brain worked to reach from 30km/h to 1500 km/h cool isn't it.hay we have rockets to reach 7,500 km/hour, space craft (unmanned) to reach 58,536 km/h.even though science don't have proof that we could travel alive over 25000 km/h.we can say we are the fastest.oops i forgot something what about light it travels in a vacuum is defined to be exactly 299,792,458 miles per second (482469193 kilometers per second) -oh shed how many years it will take for man to reach such speed with science and invention.better calculate with a fast computer.lets leave this.science is the greatest for man so no comments lets skip this.We have extreme discoveries man lets talk about this.our space craft will reach pluto in 2015 and see no god and angels in the whole solar system we will now find everything till pluto with lots of evidence.see pluto is 5,913,520,000 km from sun and we reached there.so whats next lets say we didn't find heaven and hell in between.science knows everything.- o my- we solar system is in milky way galaxy and milky way galaxie's total distance and diameter is 100,000 light years.it means light needs 100,000 years to reach its total distance.light travels 482469193 kilometers per second and reaches milky way in 100,000 years.how many years human science will take to explore and research milky way.o baby i forgot something there are 10,000 galaxies exist(as per science) including milky way.for milky way alone it takes 100,000 light years what about all.how many years it will take for science to research and find all those.oops this time we use super computer to calculate.ok we skip this too.we have brain man.we have science lets speak about other subject.we have medical science.we save people we can even fit phase maker and we explored everything in our human body and we know everything inside us.i am proud that we are humans we know everything.hay i forgot this thing where is that soul is located why we die? when will science catch that soul which leave the body.shud up there is no soul exist.ok then how we run? what is a human? explain.come on bro science sure can.ok tell me after death where we go.why no heart beat.no heart beat because of death.k explain what is death? what the shed is called life man.explain it.tell me science proof for soul or what ever which keeps us moving.ok cool.i have no answer.hai come on we have something moer we can save a person from death and make him live to his max.oh is it why we cant make a man live over 200 years.hmm lets leave this topic too.we will sure find what is life soul and death in future.u know we haven't yet discovered us properly.so no comments.hai you know we have discovered everything inside earth with our science.but we have no exact proof.so what we are doing now is drilling the earth to its core.you know we reached the maximum.we drilled 12 kilometers down and we explored many things out of it.hai tell me one thing how many percentage you reached inside earth its around 0.2% u know 12 kilometers is 0.2% we just have 99.8% to drill and find out.how many years it took to reach such 12 kilometers just after super scientific research of 5000 years.from human water well to latest machine drill.we will sure reach the core in the future may be in 3 million years.so it means science explored and discovered every place in our planet isn't it.great man.shud up we never told such you know including Yeti there are more than 30 forests which is so deep.we don't even know whats inside all we know that they are very deep forest.that's enough isn't it.ya ya ok so science explored all water levels then.oh ya we reached 4000 meters with our super technology.but unfortunately the depth we have to explore is about 2,550 Mariana trench.sure we will invent something to reach there.so when science will find something which can dive 4000 meters.wait man let me finish the mission to 4000 meters wasn't so successful we will make it successful first then we will think about other depth which is more than 100 in number.now my hand is paining i cant type anymore for this question.i can say one thing.we will find god after we discover and explore all his creations.then only we can think about creator.

Travel System for my Sister's first Baby?

J.R.

So my older sister is pregnant with her first child, it's a girl. She is due sometime in December. So I was thinking about getting her one of those Travel System stroller things but I don't know what the best deal is. I want one that won't be too bulky, and is very sturdy and light. I also don't want to spend more than $200. So where would be a good place to look?

Answer
Babies R Us or Walmart.

Personally I have the Graco Elyse Travel system and I love it!!! It is light weight, The stroller folds with one hand, It had good reviews, I know 2 other moms who have it and both love it!!

I had a girl also so That's the one I got. I wouldn't recommend Even Flo - My bf's sister just had a baby also and her evenflo is horrible! And they get tons of Recalls.

Best Travel System for Baby?

hanna

Which travel system do you recommend? Do you like the one you have? Why, why not? Thank you.

Answer
http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2864796

I looked at Target, Walmart, Babies R Us, and Baby Depot (Burington Coat Factory) and this is the only one I found that I liked. Bad thing was that I had to buy it online, it wasn't in the Babies R Us store that I'm by, so instead of it being $160, it was $200 with shipping and handling. But it came very fast, it was expected 7-10 business days, got it in 5 business days.

It is very good quality-the fabric is definitely not cheap looking. The infant car seat shade is kind of small (short), but oh well. The stroller is bulky, but I think I would get that with any travel system. They are big units.

I highly suggest it.

Answer
Don't get a Safety 1st travel system at all. They're not rated well, they're not as safe as others on the market. You get what you pay for. The car seats do not crash test as well as other brands do. You can't put a price on safety. If something should happen to your child in a car accident, you don't want to be thinking, if only I'd have bought a better car seat. Get a Graco car seat. Strollers don't matter--go ahead and get the Safety 1st stroller, but don't get a Safety 1st car seat.

Other brands in the same group include Cosco Juvenile, Maxi-Cosi, Eddie Bauer, and Quinny. The are notorious for product recalls, and cheap parts.

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/chi-carseats-special,0,7744829.story

EDIT: Well, Graco isn't the best name, either. Safety 1st is the cheapest brand on the market. They're notorious for crappy products that do not test well. Period. Graco is a middle of the road brand that is the most affordable to the most people which is why it is the most popular. If you truly want what's safest for your child, you'll get a Chicco car seat or a Peg Perego car seat. These offer side impact protection in an accident. Plastic with cute fabric stretched over it (Safety 1st or Graco) do not. I don't really know why you're wasting so much time researching stroller safety (since there are not any studies out there on it). You need to buy the safest car seat for your baby and worry about the stroller second. The car seat's what going to save your baby, not the stroller. If you want the best stroller out there, you're going to get an Uppa Baby or a Bugaboo, neither of which is probably in your price range if you're looking at Safety 1st travel systems. Most strollers can be turned into travel systems in this day and age with an adapter bar. The only exception is umbrella strollers.

quinny buzz 3 or 4, is one really better than the other?

Q. i cant decide on the quinny buzz 3 or the 4. i know the difference between the both, but which one is more practical? i was going to go with the chicco cortina travel system but its too bulky and ive heard to many bad things about it, baby being hot in infant seat, seat being heavy, stroller has to much of an incline so toddler doesnt sit up right. so we want to go the the quinny and maxi cosi micro. does anyone have it? do you like it? is there anything else similar at or below that price? no graco due to lack of padding(i love the seats and how versatile they are, but its like the baby is sitting on plastic!) not into evenflo or babytrend either....

Answer
quinnys are really large and bulky and very heavy, personall i dont think any of those are practical

Answer

Can anyone give me advice on a stroller/travel system??

allybd76

Any advice? good/bad.... Any suggestions or experiences are appreciated.

We registered for the Eddie Bauer® Adventurer Travel System - Cambridge, but I read some reviews and many people have not given favorable reviews. PLEASE HELP!!!

Answer
Go to Babies R Us and test drive strollers.. We got ours as a gift a Graco Travel system.. The infant car seat was nice, but we didn't use the stroller very much.. Then when we had another baby two yrs. later we ended up buying a tandem stroller with a standing/sitting jump seat.. Joovy ! I love it.. Becasue it folds nearly flat and weights quite a bit less than our Graco. The infant seat adapter comes with it! I would suggest maybe buying a used or borrowing a Graco travel system if you can.. They are nice, but really heavy and take up a ton of room and they are a pain to fold... If it were me and I was looking for a stroller I would opt for getting a car seat that was for 5lbs-40lbs or 80 lbs and getting a regular lightweight stroller... Especially if you have more than 1 vehicle if you wanted a base for each car atleast for the graco strollers it's an extra $40... However, I got one at a garage sale for $10.. It's all dependant really on how much you want to spend and how much you are going to use it.... Look at ebay or Craigslist and see if you can get one used.. I'm selling ours with an extra infant seat/base for $70. The Graco's atleast retail for $170 for the travel system.... Good luck

Australian or NZ mothers, need advice on capsule/pram combos?

Sarah T

We are expecting for the second time around, and this time we would like to invest in a travel system, as last time around we were forever waking our little man taking him out of his car seat.

Our first pram failed us miserable by FOLDING UP! when we were walking our son and hit a crack in the footpath, the pram was proven faulty and we got our money back, but used the money to buy a 6 month + stroller (as he was 5.5 months at the time of the incident, we didn't feel the need for another pram.)

I was just wondering what are some suggestions available in Australia ( I say NZ too, because we have relatively similar stock across the board)

We were thinking the SteelCraft Strider Plus, but they are coming a bit hard to come by, we went to Baby Bunting to look at one the other day, and I was practically pushed out of the way, just so someone could swipe the last one! We do have few options to get this pram if we wish, but I just wanted to know what sort of other options there are.

Money isn't a huge issue (Don't get me wrong, we are FAR from 'well off' but after TTC for so long, we were able to save enough to get a nice little nest egg) although if I'm being honest, I'm still a tightward at heart, and usually end up opting for the cheaper option lol.

We arent huge fans of the SteelCraft cruiser system...was a little bit strange to us!!

Answer
The Steelcraft travel systems are all very similar- the reason the strider plus is such a big thing is because it has the extra seat available so that you can put a second child underneath.

Another option is the Hipod travel system available from Target (colorado pram or aspen stroller and delta capsule)
Safety First has a nice travel system, but if you can't find one of the pram frames (you have to buy the seats and capsule separate) there are other options for using a safety first capsule.
Valco does a travel system in combination with Safety First- you buy the pram, capsule and have to get a travel system adaptor kit.

I would actually go with the Safety First or Valco System- the reason being is that the capsule has a upper weight limit of a full three kilograms higher than the steelcraft ones. The Hipod System is a good cheap one too and like the safety first and valco systems the capsule is rated to 12kg.

The easiest to buy is actually the Hipod system as nearly ALL target stores stock it.
The Valco offers the most choice with pram styles- most of the more expensive Valco prams can have the Safety first seat attached to them.
I'll provide a couple of links so that you can look over my thoughts on travel systems- one of them will be my favourite store for baby stuff.
I've also noticed as I added the links- the store now has several other travel systems in- the phil and ted one has all the features of the strider and a better reputation to boot.

TRAVEL HELP! doing it Solo! NEED ANSWERS!?

Marley

I have a 16month son and 3month old daughter.
I am flying to Australia soon from NZ i was wondering if there are any mothers out there that have been in this situtation. That has doen it solo.

Any tips. Or advise . PLEASE help.
What will i need. etc etc. ?

Answer
It's perfectly normal to be anxious about traveling with little ones--you'll be just fine though!

Make sure to allow plenty of time for everything. Arrive to the airport at least 2 hours early so that you'll have time for check in and security, plus any toilet breaks before boarding.

When you first arrive, ask the person at the front desk about flying with your two children. They should be able to help you with any questions that you have.

Pack a carry-on bag full of stuff to keep your 16 month old occupied and your 3 month old happy. Although you will have an entertainment system on the plane for yourself, your kids may not be able to see it well. A portable DVD player or laptop might be a good idea, along with some movies. I've seen many parents put a movie on for their children and it seems to work great!

Here's a check off list to help you with your carry-on bag for the kids:

- Nappies (diapers)

- Snacks (small crackers, sultanas/raisins, bananas, baby food, etc.)

- Baby formula, bottles, and a sippy cup for your 16 month old.

- A Pacifier

- DVD player/laptop along with a couple movies

- Change of clothes for both your kids (in case they get their clothes messy)

I'd suggest making another check off list for packing. It'll help keep you organized and alleviate some of your stress!

You may also have to bring a car seat for your 3 month old, depending on NZ's air travel rules. I would suggest calling the airport or looking online about that first.

One more thing: Bring passports for everybody as well as a sheet of paper containing your flight numbers, gate numbers, etc. along with phone numbers of where you're staying. If it's a hotel, the address of that as well. Charge your mobile phone up too before you leave.

You'll be fine, just allow plenty of time and try to enjoy yourself! I recently talked to a mother who flew from the U.S to Australia alone with her two kids aged 3 and 6 months. She was nervous, but did just fine.

Cheers!

Will the cigarette smoking culture in Germany ever diminish?

Easy A

I recently traveled to Germany and much to my surprise, found smokers everywhere at all hours of the day. From old people to young, men to women, girls and boys, there was even a baby with a cigarette candy in his mouth for pete's sake- at least I think it's candy- it's more intense than France, the UK and even Ireland.

Answer
I think it depends on the city as well. I noticed more smokers in bigger cities like Munich and fewer in the university town of Freiburg.

As for a change, I think it is coming. Italy and Ireland have already banned smoking in public and France put a similar ban in place. The Germans were working on some such ban, but it got squashed in government. I still think it will come back in some form. I certainly hope so.

Once a ban goes into effect it will be interesting to see how the actual culture of smoking develops around it. I would not expect everyone to stop smoking at once; but a few winters of having to stand outside of the warm bar without a beer in the snow to smoke might turn off a bunch of people. I also expect the health system will be happy to help anyone to stop that wants it.

repair on faulty goods?

lh.meek

hi all hope you can help,
i bought a travel system in july 10 , my daughter was born in november 10 due to bad weather i didn't get out with the pram til after xmas, i have been using it in travel seat mode but about a month ago due to daughter getting too big for car seat i started to use the pushchair attachment which clicks into the chassis however i noticed a week ago that it is not clicking in properly, if it is forced it will but as it is being pushed around it comes back out. i went back to the store that i bought it in , had no receipt but i did have the credit card statement that showed the transaction, they are able to chase up the receipt for me , in the meantime they have offered me a repair but i have to pay 50 euro for , surely this cant be right i payed 339.00 euro for the buggy and it is certainly not my fault its broken , it is unsafe to use for a 6month old baby, can anyone offer any advice please ?
btw : i did try to register the buggy when i bought it but being in ireland the company did not recognize an Irish address

Answer
This item was purchased back in July 2010. It is now the middle of May 2011. That's approximately 10 months later. It is very unlikely that you would find any store which would now do a repair for free. Perhaps there is a manufacturer's warranty on the item for a year or more, but that would more than likely require you to ship it someplace...a cost that would likely equal or exceed the repair cost of 50 euro. My advice would be to simply pay the 50 euro and have it repaired, and next time, don't wait for almost a year after purchasing an item to see if it actually works or not, because like now, you would most likely be out of luck then also.

Would you recommend the Chicco Cortina Travel System (stroller/car seat)?

Linds

Why or why not? Thank you!

Answer
i bought the keyfit 30 infant seat and the chicco trevi. i wanted a lightweight stroller because we travel a lot and didnt want a big bulky stroller. the cortina is a fullsize stroller that has nice features but the trevi works better for us. i love the keyfit 30. it only fits in shopping carts at one store so i started to sling the baby when i go grocery shopping. it is easier than having a bunch of people oohing and ahhing over my baby while i try to grocery shop anyway. ive had a graco travel system before and i liked it but that was 10 years ago. the chicco is really nice and i loved the extreme pattern. i also have the chicco play yard. what ive learned in baby products is you get what you pay for. the chicco line is top rated.

Best infant car seat brand/travel system?

Q. I'm thinking graco and already have graco travel system but just wondering if I made the wrong choice this is my 1st child and have no experience with car seats. Should I get a convertible?

Answer
The Gracy Snugride 35 actually was rated one of the best infant seats on the market. The Snugride that goes from 20-22lbs actually are fine as well. The problem tends to be that babies outgrow them before 2 years old, and the tests say that a baby should rear-face to 2-4 years old (4 years old according to most of the research.) Now if your car seats are already in use, then I'd say just keep using them. They're safe, but you'll probably have to buy a new one in 6-8 months. A convertible gives you the ability of using the seat hopefully for the next 6 years and keeping them rear-facing longer (also after 6 months, when the baby is sitting up, they're more comfortable.)

I don't like travel systems as much because the strollers packaged with them tend to be heavy and hard to push. Plus, SIDS recommendations are that your baby sleeps on a flat surface not at a tilt. Car seats basically are the best place for a baby in the car, but when you take them out of the car you shouldn't keep them in a car seat. So a stroller that lays flat, or a chest carrier/sling you can use is safer for the baby to be in. And remember that an infant seat cannot sit on a shopping cart. Shopping carts (and car seats) are NOT made for that. Also, when you take an infant seat out it increases the weight of your baby by whatever the seat weighs, 20lbs sometimes, and it can really hurt your back hauling a bucket around like that. After your baby is 4-6 months old you can get a stroller that sits them up more safely (they're sitting up on their own more by that point) and are much easier to push.

If you have the money, I prefer the Britax-70 line. They rear-face to 40 and forward face to 70lbs, and I like the fact that Britax will replace your seat if there's an accident, but also that they guarantee it's safety in a small accident (most other seats require you to replace after a small accident as much as a large accident. Since Britax tests at higher impacts, they can guarantee it's safety after a short accident.) I like how this line actually has a steel bar on either side, and each is independently latched to the car's Latch system, plus the fact that it allows anchoring even rearfacing. Anchoring is when the top of the car seat is tied down to the floor of the car. In an accident where the seat belt fails or the latch fails that anchor can keep the seat in place.

With my children, I used a Graco Snugride for my first, and a Graco Snugride 35 for my second. With my first I hauled the seat everywhere and just about broke my back and arms. :P The stroller was a monster to deal with (and actually got recalled.) She was switched to a Britax Decathlon at 16 months about. Because of fitting issues, we didn't go directly to the Britax with my second born. With my second, we got the Snugride 35 and left it in the car, taking him in and out, using an Ergo carrier. That was far more enjoyable and when he was crying or teething I could put him in the Ergo and bounce on my exercise ball or do things around the house and he'd calm down and sleep. If I was at church or something I could put him in the Ergo and walk and he'd fall asleep. It was far better for both of us. At about 10 months old, I put him in a Britax Boulevard 70 and we tried it on my newborn preemie nephew and he fit it as well. I'm impressed at the changes, and like it a great deal. If/When I have a third, we will go immediately to a Britax Boulevard 70 (or whatever has been updated.) They're more expensive, but should last the full 6 years until it's expired, and I have no complaints.

Need suggestions for a great looking, durable regular stroller for a larger baby. (Not a jogger or liteweight)?

Meowmix

I am researching strollers for our new baby (due in 3 weeks). Here's what I am looking for:
*not a travel system
*not a jogger
*must have cup holder for parent
*not a lightweight/umbrella (just a regular standard size)
*3 or 4 wheelers
*must be roomy enough for a larger baby
*must be under $200

The larger baby thing is important as we expect this one to be big like his brother was. I'd like to use it until he's close to 3 and our first son was about 40-45 lbs at 3 and tall for his age, too. So the seat must be roomy. I'd appreciate any suggestions. One that I am looking at is the Kolcraft 3 wheeler- Cosmic. There is also one just like it that is a 4 wheeler. If anyone has one, let me know what you think.

This is the stroller we have and I love it! I have the carseat that goes with it for my baby but also recently used the stroller when I babysat my friends 3-year old son. (He's a big boy and tall for his age.) He had plenty of room and I was able to easily push him through the grass when we had to "off road" at one point. It has the cup holder and even a spot that is perfect for my cellphone and keys with a lid so they don't bounce out.

No TV, no electronic games/systems/music players/etc?

How did you occupy your time as a child under those circumstances?
What about your kids?

I know when I was growing up, my siblings and I spent many of hours outside playing or reading or doing who knows what but when we couldn't go outside, we used to make up stuff to do indoors. Back in my day (i used to walk up hill to school in the snow barefoot both ways...) there wasn't cable (at least not like today, and we didn't have it) so that wasn't even an option. What we used to do was go through the phone book and find the funniest names we could. This would seriously occupy us over and over again. lol We were simple but it was funny and we were amused, so no harm.
lol how old did i make myself sound? mostly i'm being facetious guys. but we really did do most of our playing outside of electronics. the only tv that was there was saturday morning cartoons or for the hour after school. everything was aimed at adults.

Answer
Me and my brother used to use the phone book to find funny names too!!! Hahaha :)
I grew up spending half my time travelling with my parents and the rest of the time we spent on our farm. Me and my 3 siblings grew up riding horses, donkeys, cows (well at least we tried to), chasing the goats and chooks, daring each other to jump into the dams from different trees, playing in the dirt, playing hide n seek.
When we were inside my sisters and I would play with all ours moms jewlery and try her clothes and make up on, and make our brother play house with us-I was the mom, my brother was the dad, our youngest sister was the baby and my poor middle sister was the maid haha. I used to put on puppet shows and make everyone in my family pay to watch them, as well as my little "Madonna" shows where I would sing "Like a Virgin" hahaha. Madonna was my idol! We'd play guitar and piano, do chores and my mom used to try and make me and my sisters wear matching dresses right up until I was 17 and got married lol.

I live in the city now, and we're just lucky to have a backyard big enough to keep 3 dogs in so my boys spend most of their time outside playing with them. When they're inside they're either playing with each other, with their older sister, with mom and dad, or wanting to hold their new baby brother 24/7. They watch tv and movies, and play the stupid wii (i'm starting to hate the thing!) and much to the neighbours dismay daddy gets out the 4-wheeler and they ride it up and down the street. We try to go down to my parents at least once a month and they LOVE it. Next time we move I am determined we will move somewhere with property so we can have all the space and animals we would like.
:)

What do you think of the Baby Trend brand stroller/car seat travel system?

wonderingi

Particularly the "Venture" style. And, did anyone order it direct from the website? If so, where can you take it if there is a problem?

Answer
Love the stroller, hate the car seat, would never buy the travel system.

You can try out the strollers or at least some of the models at Target and Toys R Us/Babies R Us. I love them, they're comfortable for my kids, easy to maneuver, easy to go through sand, dirt, grass, whatever, and I haven't tried out a nicer stroller. I love the large wheels that are bicycle wheels so that it's easy to fix them and for them to go over obstacles. :)

However, I don't like the car seat because you can try them at Target as well, and you have to put the two hooks together then push them into the seat-belt latch, and when working with a restless baby that would be a nightmare. Graco and other infant seats let you push in one side then the other, which makes it a lot easier when you're working with a restless baby.

I also don't like people putting the baby in a car seat outside of the car. It makes the car seat at risk for knocking against things and becoming damaged, as well as it curves the baby. SIDS research says over and over that we need to lay the baby flat or be carrying the baby, and research has proven that while car seats save their lives in an accident you should limit their time in a car seat (or anything that tilts them) to less than 3 hours in a day and no more than 1 hour at a time, and basically not use it in anything but the car.

So the stroller is nice, get the stroller, but order it through something like Target or Walmart's or babies r us so that you can take it there if there's a problem. Skip the car seat, get one that is better and will work better. Carry the baby for the first 4 months, either your arms or a Moby Wrap for a cheaper alternative to something like an Ergo, it's really not hard. Do a search on car-seat breathing and you'll find the studies done about the dangers.

Add: Looked at the stroller. It's not the jogger that I prefer. If you're going to go with that style of stroller, look at the Chicco strollers. They lay completely flat, so it's better for the SIDS aspect, and have better reviews. I honestly wouldn't get a Baby Trend stroller that's not the jogger because they don't push well, don't maneuver, don't move well. It's all about the wheels and those little wheels always are a pain in the neck on strollers.

This is one similar to what I thought you were talking about. They're approved for babies about 2 months up.

Baby stroller travel system grows with baby?

Erik7

Our first baby is due early June and we are in the market for baby stuff. I'm reading reviews on car seats, and we think we would like to get a stroller travel system for the convenience.

My question is:

Once our baby outgrows the infant seat, is there another baby seat that will fit into these strollers? I'm kinda confused about that. In the videos I've seen about these strollers, a 2 or 3 year old is shown riding in the stroller without the baby car seat. So what does the baby ride in in between infant and 2 years old? is there another car seat that i need to buy that will attach to the stroller?

This is one of the travel systems we are looking at.

Answer
We skipped the 'travel system' and went with a stroller that reclines flat for a newborn. (chicco cortina). And we bought a good convertible to fit our tiny 5 pound newborn.

Infant car seats can be outgrown as early as 6 months of age. You cannot put convertible seats in a stroller, they stay in the car. And after about 5-6 months please put baby in the stroller to see their world. Nothing worse than seeing a baby that age struggling to look around, only to give up because they are strapped in a car seat (that should have stayed in the car). Plus, babies that age are too f darn heavy to lug around in those seats! Also, the bigger the baby the higher level of injury risk
for baby when those seats are used outside the car.

The 'travel system' stroller will allow you to put baby in at a certain age depending on recline, and can be used without the car seat. This stroller also reclines flat according to the website, so you can use this without the car seat for a newborn. You can even buy just the stroller, and not as a set.

Our lil guys were all out seeing the world as tiny babies, carried in ring slings and not some plastic bucket. After a couple of trips. baby gets used to the routine of getting in and out of the car and falling back asleep. We used the sling, or laid them flat in the stroller. Car seats are for cars, not for carrying babies.

poll: travel system OR light weight baby strollers?

Rodi= Yass

i like the travel system, but its so heavy and bulky even when its folded..
i like the light weight because its light!! but i still need a car seat... what should i do?

Are any of you familar with baby trend zanzibar travel system?

latinlady1

Please i need any opinions on this travel system. I am a first time mom and i am having diffucluty picking a travel system.

Answer
It looks like a nice comfortable system that grows with the baby. I will agree with the first answer, though. It will get dirty because it is a light color. I do however like the features and the price seems to be quite affordable.
