It's definitely ok for a girl, too.

Infant Travel System?

Symone R

I have a little girl on the way and I am thinking about purchasing an infant travel system but I'm not really sure if its a good buy. Is it really worth paying $150-$200 for a car seat that will be only used for a couple of months, then have to turn right back around a look for another one? Are there travel systems than will last till my baby is about 1 or 2 years old?

Answer
We got the Chicco travel system (around $300), and we've loved it. We still use it with our 5-month-old and should be able to use the same carseat until she's a year (holds up to 22 lbs). And you can still use the stroller after they outgrow the carseat.
If you have a Babies 'R Us nearby, they always do 20% off coupons, which is great. We used it on ours in combination with some giftcards, so we practically got it for free!
