Answer
We bought a Pram/Car seat/buggy travel system from mother care it is also very chunky so we bought Britax vigour buggy - it is much lighter and easier to get into the boot of the car as the travel system was a bitch to fit in! We looked at the one you like but we didn't wan to spend that much as we had bought alot already and the one we got was on sale but it is a nice light weight one that is compact to go out with.

Stroller and car seat or a travel system? Infant car seat or convertible.?

Madisenril

I am due in three months and looking to get a stroller. I am wondering what ones you have, what you think of them, and what do you suggest. Also is an infant car seat better than a convertible? I am thinking an infant because of convenience. Thanks

Answer
i've had quite a few strollers by now. i believe i am on number 7! and my son is 14 months.

the first one was a traditional pram and it was good for the first 6 weeks. we had a car but it wasn't reliable and was only there in case of an emergency. i'm not a fan of travel systems as i don't think it's good for a baby to sit in that position for long periods all the time. i understand you have to take a long drive sometimes but it's not necessary when you're just going for a walk in the park.

anyway, got a new car after 6 weeks and the pram didn't fit as it was huge. i then got a forward facing chicco london winter stroller. it was ok for what you pay but it only lasted 3 months and then it went in the bin.
thinking back i think i should have bought a pram system like this one:

http://www.mothercare.com/gp/product/B000IESETW/sr=1-6/qid=1220103315/ref=sr_1_6/203-1114474-7270302?ie=UTF8&m=A2LBKNDJ2KZUGQ&n=44352031&mcb=core

that way you have the pram for the first few weeks, you can put a carseat in it if baby happens to be asleep and later on it converts into a push chair (facing both ways in some cases).

an infant car seat is good for those times when baby is sleeping and you don't want to disturb them. once my son was about 3 months old though he'd wake up if i tried to get the seat out of the car. but they are good for those first few months.

one good advice i wish someone would've given me is that it is worth getting a good push chair that will last. it's part of everyday life with a baby and you'll use it daily. i'm never buying chicco again as it didn't last long enough. i have a quinny zapp at the moment and it is great for a toddler but i wouldn't get it for a baby.

hope that helps!
